Last week, the House passed their Health and Human Services omnibus, and the Senate passed their Tax omnibus and Health and Human Services omnibus. Each body has now passed their thirteen budget bills and the conference committee process has begun. The conference committees are starting with walk-throughs of the language, going through same and similar provisions, and reviewing the budget spreadsheets. Majority Leader Gazelka and Speaker Hortman are aiming for May 7^th to have joint House-Senate budget targets and once those are set, the real conference committee work will begin.
 
The Commerce & Energy omnibus conference committee will have their first meeting on Monday, May 3^rd and the Senate will have the gavel to begin. From what we know, the Commerce & Energy omnibus conference committee can meet every day from 1:00pm to 4:00pm, with the Senate having the gavel Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and the House having the gavel Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday.
