New Lignite Energy Council Web site launched

LEC-Logo-Large

You might have noticed something new about the Lignite Energy Council this year. We revealed our new logo in January, followed by a redesigned Web site, which launched in mid-February. Our goal is to provide a dynamic site that users can go to for current, accurate news and information about the lignite industry.

The site, designed by KAT Communications, has some new features such as:

  • An interactive map of the mines, plants and research facilities – each of which has their own page that are updated with relevant stories.
  • The latest news and #CoalStrong sections of the Web site are regularly updated with recent news and feature stories, respectively.
  • Content is easily shareable on social media.
  • The ability to sign up for action alerts was added to the homepage – just enter your email address and you will receive alerts about upcoming legislation that requires action.

The site has some features that you are familiar with, but are more user-friendly.

  • The LEC’s position papers are more easily accessible from the homepage and are located on the Government Action page as well.
  • The Research & Development page will have more information and updates on its projects, such as the Allam Cycle.
  • The Lignite Energy Council’s Web site is still the go-to spot for lignite information including its benefits, history, production, economic impact and its many uses.

Members have access to a members-only site that contains:

  • Important announcements and news.
  • LEC Annual Meeting, Fall Conference and CoalPAC event information and registration.
  • A membership directory that is easy to navigate.
