Minnesota Legislative Action Alert
Minnesota’s proposed 100% carbon free energy mandate is very harmful to North Dakota’s lignite industry. Around 50% of the electricity that our lignite mines and power plants produce is sent over transmission lines into Minnesota. The mandate would greatly damage North Dakota’s economy and end the exportation of our homegrown electricity to our neighbor to the east.
The Jobs and Energy Omnibus bill, now found in HF2208, is scheduled for a vote on Tuesday, April 23. We have created an action alert for Minnesota residents to voice your opposition to this proposal in a format that can be easily transmitted to Minnesota legislators.
