History of the Allam Cycle in North Dakota

Finding a cost-effective technology to capture carbon dioxide while using lignite as a feedstock to generate affordable and reliable electricity remains a paramount goal of the Lignite Energy Council members. A few years ago, we turned our attention to the Allam Cycle. Currently, a pilot-sized facility is operating in Texas and collecting data. A recent infographic for policymakers has been created to explain the LEC’s history and how we remain involved.
