BNI Coal mines more than 4 million tons of lignite annually and sells it to the adjacent Milton R. Young Station. All of this is accomplished by trained employees who mine efficiently and reclaim the land to a state as good or better than before mining operations begin.

This fall, a camera crew went to the mine and shot videos of several employees for the “I am Lignite” campaign, but also interviewed Jay Volk and Jon Rudnick from BNI Coal to get a short tour of how mining and reclamation operations work hand in hand.
